Darla Eden To Take Oath Of Office Today

GAINESVILLE- Incoming Hall County Tax Commissioner Darla Eden, will take her oath of office today with Superior Court Judge Bonnie Oliver at 10 a.m.

Eden, a former Hall County Finance Director, defeated challenger Kent Henderson in a runoff last August.

Hall County’s new probate judge, Patty Walters Laine will take her oath on Friday at 10 a.m. Laine prevailed in contentious runoff with challenger Brook Davidson. Superior Court Judge C. Andrew Fuller will administer the oath.

The new Hall County Sheriff was in a dog fight to win election, Gerald Couch, will take his oath on Friday, January 4th at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Gainesville. Georgia Governor Nathan Deal will oversee that ceremony.

The two newest members of the Hall County Commission, Jeff Stowe who replaces Ashley Bell and Chairman-elect Dick Mecum, who replaces Tom Oliver, will take their oaths of office on January 7th at the commission’s meeting room located at the Hall County Government Center. U.S. District Court Judge Rick Story will preside over that ceremony.

All the ceremonies mentioned above are open to the public.
